Wedding photography at Amsterdam – A Rainy Day Wedding | Charlotte & Alex

Charlotte and Alex had a magical wedding day full of love, laughter, and beautiful photos. From the preparation and make-up to the photoshoot at Magere Brug to the ceremonies at Gemeentehuis De Bilt, it was truly an unforgettable day. But, it was pooring rain this day! But this resulted in some amazing amazing shots at Palace Dam Square Amsterdam. Let’s take a look back on this special day how the wedding photographs taken in Amsterdam looked!

Getting Ready

The first part of the day was getting ready—putting on the dress and suit and having make-up done. It was a time of joyous excitement as everyone got into their wedding outfits for the big day ahead. Everyone was looking their best for what was sure to be an amazing event!

Wedding photography At Magere Brug

Next was the time for wedding couple portraits at Magere Brug which cross over Amstel river in Amsterdam. This offered some stunning views of the cityscape during an otherwise rainy day. Even with bad weather, we were able to capture some stunning shots that would make memories last forever.

Wedding portraits At Palace Dam Square Amsterdam

We then moved on to Palace Dam Square Amsterdam for more photos in front of one of the most iconic landmarks in all of Europe! The weather was stormy, but I managed to capture a few epic shots with the broken umbrella against the wind.

Wedding ceremony at town hall of De Bilt

Afterwards, it was time for the ceremony held at Gemeentehuis De Bilt! I was driving together with the wedding couple in the car to the ceremony place and while driving, they quickly tried to dry their outfits with tissues and redo their hair and bridal make-up. We arrived at the ceremony place fashionably… late! But the couple didn’t bother. They were very relaxed despite their wet outfits and late arrival. The ceremony was very intimate with closest family and friends as there were still some covid restrictions. The mom of Charlotte was their wedding official, so you can imagine how special the ceremonial speech was! After sealing their union with a kiss, there were more photos taken outside with all guests before they made their way off back home.

At home, they served a lovely chocolate pie where and speeches were held. As the wedding took place during COVID, not all friends and family could join but many friends and family left a video message for them. After laughs and tears at home, it was time for dinner at a restaurant nearby. The meal ended off this perfect day with Charlotte and Alex surrounded by their family and friends who had been there since they began preparations early in the morning. It truly was an incredible experience witnessing such love between two people who deserved nothing but happiness on their special day! Overall it was an incredible journey through one unforgettable wedding day—from start to finish!
